1. General Disclaimer — Intermediary Role Only

1.1 Cotrawell is a lead-generation and introduction platform only. We connect Requesters seeking assistance with Providers willing to offer it, in exchange for a Lead Fee paid to us. We are not a party to, do not supervise, and do not guarantee any Hustle performed between a Requester and a Provider.

1.2 We do not process payment for, insure, or otherwise stand behind the Underlying Service. Any arrangement for compensation, timing, or performance of a Hustle is exclusively between the Requester and the Provider.

2. No Employment Relationship

2.1 Providers are independent contractors, not employees, agents, or representatives of Cotrawell. We do not train, supervise, schedule, or direct the manner in which any Hustle is performed.

3. No Background Checks or Vetting — Read This Before Every Match

3.1 Cotrawell does NOT conduct criminal background checks, reference checks, credential verification, professional licensing checks, or any form of vetting of Users, unless a specific User’s profile expressly states, in writing, that a named third-party check has been completed for that individual. Absent such an express statement, assume no check of any kind has occurred.

3.2 Basic identity verification (where performed) confirms only that submitted identification documents are internally consistent. It is not a substitute for a background check and does not confirm good character, competence, or safety.

3.3 You are solely responsible for independently vetting any counterparty before meeting them, before accompanying them, before handing over a minor or vulnerable adult into their care, and before handing over documents, payment instruments, or valuables. This responsibility cannot be delegated to or assumed by the Platform.

4. General Assumption of Risk

4.1 Use of the Service, including meeting or engaging any other User in person, involves inherent risks, including but not limited to physical harm, theft, fraud, misrepresentation, property loss, missed connections, travel disruption, and emotional distress. By using the Service, you voluntarily assume all such risks.

4.2 You acknowledge that the Platform has no ability to control the conduct of Users off-platform and cannot guarantee your safety or the safety of any person or property in your care during a Hustle.

5. Hustle Categories and Category-Specific Risk Disclosures

The Service permits the following fixed Hustle categories. Read the risk disclosure for your selected category before proceeding. Categories marked ★ involve minors, vulnerable adults, or valuable/sensitive items and carry heightened risk disclosures below.

5.1 Airport Guide — Assistance navigating an airport (check-in, security, gates, connections). Risk: involves close in-person contact in a public transit environment; verify meeting points publicly and keep valuables secured.

5.2 Ride Share — Coordinating shared ground transportation between travellers. Risk: entering a private vehicle with a stranger carries risk of accident, unsafe driving, or personal harm; the Platform does not verify driver’s licence validity, vehicle insurance, or driving record.

5.3 Career Networking — Introductions or conversation related to professional networking during travel. Risk: no verification of claimed professional credentials, employer, or affiliations; treat claimed qualifications as unverified.

5.4 Listening Companion — Conversational companionship during a trip. Risk: standard in-person-meeting risk; the Platform does not screen for behavioural or mental-health suitability of either party.

5.5 Language Interpreter — Translation/interpretation assistance. Risk: no verification of language proficiency or interpretation accuracy; do not rely on interpretation for legal, medical, or safety-critical communications without independent confirmation.

5.6 Tour Guide — Local guidance or sightseeing assistance. Risk: no verification of local knowledge, licensing (where locally required for paid tour guiding), or route safety; independently confirm any local guiding licence requirements.

5.7 Document Courier ★ — Carrying or transporting documents (which may include identity documents, travel documents, or other sensitive paperwork) on behalf of another traveller. Heightened Risk: Carrying another person’s identity or travel documents, especially across an international border, can raise serious legal and security issues, including scrutiny, seizure, or detention by customs, border, or immigration authorities (e.g., CBSA), independent of any wrongdoing by either party. The Platform does not verify the legality, contents, or authenticity of any document being couriered, and does not perform any check on the Provider’s trustworthiness. Users assume full responsibility for confirming that any document exchange is lawful and for any consequence of transporting another person’s documents. The Platform strongly recommends never entrusting original identity or travel documents (e.g., passports) to another traveller for cross-border carriage.

5.8 Local Purchase — Requesting a Provider purchase an item locally on the Requester’s behalf. Risk: involves advance payment or reimbursement arranged directly between Users, with no Platform-mediated payment protection or purchase guarantee; the Platform bears no responsibility for lost funds, non-delivery, or item quality.

5.9 Duty-Free Shopper — Requesting a Provider purchase duty-free goods on the Requester’s behalf. Risk: duty-free allowances, customs declarations, and import restrictions are the personal legal responsibility of the traveller carrying the goods; misuse may result in customs penalties, seizure, or other legal consequences unrelated to the Platform.

5.10 Parent’s Helper (Supervised) ★ — Defined and Restricted Scope: this category provides an extra pair of hands to a parent or legal guardian who remains physically present and directly supervising at all times during the Hustle (e.g., a Provider entertaining or watching a child while the parent is seated nearby, filling out paperwork, or handling luggage within sight). This category does NOT provide, and must never be used for, unsupervised custody of a child. At no point does the Provider take sole charge of the child, and the parent or guardian must remain able to intervene immediately throughout.

Heightened Risk: THE PLATFORM DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL RECORD CHECKS, VULNERABLE-SECTOR CHECKS, CHILDCARE CERTIFICATION VERIFICATION, OR ANY OTHER BACKGROUND SCREENING OF ANY PROVIDER OFFERING ASSISTANCE UNDER THIS CATEGORY, UNLESS EXPRESSLY STATED OTHERWISE ON THAT PROVIDER’S PROFILE. The parent or legal guardian bears sole and non-delegable responsibility for: (a) remaining physically present and supervising the child throughout the entire Hustle; (b) independently verifying the Provider’s identity and suitability before permitting any interaction with the child; and (c) immediately ending the Hustle if they are unable to continue supervising. Use of this category without continuous parental or guardian presence and supervision is outside the scope of the Service, is a material breach of these Terms, and is done entirely at the User’s own risk and initiative — the Platform has neither authorized nor facilitated unsupervised care in that circumstance.

5.11 Airport Transit Assistance (Seniors) ★ — Defined and Restricted Scope: this category provides logistics assistance to an elderly or mobility-limited traveller during airport or transit transfers only — such as language interpretation, luggage handling, wayfinding, and general mobility assistance within the transit environment. This category does NOT provide custodial care, medical care, personal care, or supervision beyond the immediate transit journey, and is not a substitute for a licensed caregiver, medical escort, or an airline’s own special-assistance service.

Heightened Risk: THE PLATFORM DOES NOT CONDUCT BACKGROUND CHECKS, CAREGIVING CERTIFICATION VERIFICATION, OR MEDICAL/SAFETY SUITABILITY SCREENING OF ANY PROVIDER OFFERING ASSISTANCE UNDER THIS CATEGORY, UNLESS EXPRESSLY STATED OTHERWISE ON THAT PROVIDER’S PROFILE. Sole responsibility for this arrangement rests with the person who books or arranges the Hustle (whether the elderly traveller themselves or a family member on their behalf) and with the family member or other party receiving the traveller at the destination, including responsibility for: (a) confirming the elderly traveller’s ability to consent to and safely participate in this arrangement; (b) independently verifying the Provider’s suitability; and (c) arranging appropriate reception at the destination. Where the person booking the Hustle is not the elderly traveller, that person represents and warrants that they have the legal authority to arrange this assistance on the traveller’s behalf, and accepts these Terms and this Disclaimer, including the indemnification obligation in Section 8, on their own behalf in connection with that arrangement. This category must not be used as a substitute for medical escort, disability, or professional caregiving services required by the traveller’s actual condition.

5.12 Food Pickup — Requesting a Provider pick up food or a related item on the Requester’s behalf. Risk: no verification of food handling practices, allergen accuracy, or freshness; the Platform bears no responsibility for the safety, quality, or accuracy of any food item obtained through this category.

5.13 Deviation from Defined Scope. Sections 5.10 and 5.11 describe the only scope of assistance the Platform authorizes and facilitates under those categories. Any use of those categories beyond the defined scope — including leaving a child in a Provider’s unsupervised charge, or engaging a Provider for custodial or personal care of an elderly traveller beyond transit logistics — occurs entirely outside the Service as designed, without the Platform’s authorization, and any resulting harm is the sole responsibility of the User(s) who caused or permitted that deviation.

5.14 The categories in Sections 5.7, 5.10, and 5.11 (Document Courier, Parent’s Helper (Supervised), Airport Transit Assistance (Seniors)) require you to affirmatively acknowledge, at the point of posting or accepting the Hustle, that you have read and understood the specific heightened-risk disclosure applicable to that category, in addition to this Disclaimer generally.

6. No Guarantee of Outcome, Safety, or Performance

6.1 We do not guarantee that any Hustle will be performed, performed competently, performed safely, or performed at all. We do not guarantee the outcome of any Trip, connection, or introduction made through the Service.

7. Limitation of Liability

7.1 To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Ontario and federal Canadian law, Cotrawell’s total liability arising out of or in connection with any Hustle, Trip, or use of the Service is limited to the total Lead Fees paid by the affected User to the Platform in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, as further set out in the Terms and Conditions, Section 14.

7.2 This limitation does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury resulting from the Platform’s own negligence, or for the Platform’s gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or fraud. It does not limit the liability of any Requester or Provider to one another.

8. Indemnification

8.1 As set out in the Terms and Conditions, Section 15, you agree to indemnify Cotrawell against claims arising from your use of the Service, your performance of a Hustle, or your dealings with another User.

9. Duty to Independently Verify

9.1 Before engaging any Provider, and especially before using a starred (★) category, you are strongly advised to: independently confirm the counterparty’s identity in person; obtain and check references or a background check directly, at your own cost, if warranted; agree on clear terms in advance; remain reachable and share your plans with a third party; and trust your own judgment above any Platform rating, review, or profile information, none of which is verified or guaranteed by the Platform.

10. Governing Law

10.1 This Disclaimer is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and applicable federal laws of Canada, and disputes are subject to the dispute resolution and jurisdiction provisions of the Terms and Conditions, Sections 16–17.

11. Acknowledgment

11.1 By posting a Trip or accepting a Hustle, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to this Disclaimer, including the category-specific risk disclosures applicable to your Hustle, and that you assume the risks described above.
