This Cookie Policy explains how Cotrawell uses cookies and similar
technologies, and how you can control them, in a manner consistent
with PIPEDA’s requirement for meaningful consent. It forms part of,
and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies
1.1 Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you
visit a website or use an app. Similar technologies include pixels,
SDKs, and local storage. We use these collectively (referred to here
as “cookies”) to operate, secure, and improve the
Service.
2. Categories of Cookies We Use
2.1 Essential Cookies. Necessary for the Service to
function — e.g., maintaining your login session, enabling secure
transactions, remembering cookie preferences, and load-balancing.
These cannot be switched off, as the Service cannot operate without
them, and do not require consent under PIPEDA as they are necessary
to provide the service you requested.
2.2 Analytics Cookies. Used to understand how Users
interact with the Service (e.g., pages visited, matches attempted,
error rates), so we can measure and improve performance. These are
used only with your consent.
2.3 Marketing/Advertising Cookies. Used to deliver,
measure, and personalize advertising about the Service on our
platform or third-party platforms, and to limit repeat ad display.
These are used only with your consent.
3. Consent Management
3.1 On your first visit, you will be presented with a cookie banner
or preference centre allowing you to accept all, reject all
non-essential, or customize your choices by category (essential /
analytics / marketing).
3.2 Consistent with PIPEDA’s meaningful-consent requirement,
non-essential cookies (analytics and marketing/advertising) are set
only after you provide affirmative, opt-in consent. Essential
cookies are set automatically as necessary to deliver the Service.
3.3 You may withdraw or change your consent at any time via the
in-app/website “Cookie Preferences” or “Privacy Settings” link, or
by adjusting your browser settings as described in Section 5.
Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of use prior to
withdrawal.
3.4 We keep a record of consent choices (what was consented to, and
when) to demonstrate compliance with PIPEDA.
4. Third-Party Cookies
4.1 Certain analytics and advertising cookies are placed by
third-party providers (e.g., analytics platforms, advertising
networks) under contract with us. These third parties may combine
information collected on the Service with other information they
hold, subject to their own privacy policies, which we encourage you
to review.
5. How to Manage Cookies
5.1 In addition to our in-Service preference centre, most browsers
let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings menu.
Instructions vary by browser and are typically available in the
browser’s help documentation.
5.2 Disabling essential cookies may prevent core features of the
Service (such as staying logged in or completing a Lead Fee payment)
from functioning correctly.
5.3 Mobile app users can generally manage tracking and advertising
identifiers through their device’s operating system privacy
settings.
6. Changes to This Policy
6.1 We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect
changes in technology, law, or our practices. Material changes will
be notified through the Service.
